how-to-use-hoover-carpet-cleanerHaving a carpet in your home means it will require in-depth cleaning once in a while. People used to hire professionals to deliver cleaning services in previous times, but now vacuum cleaners are already popular for performing all activities without much labor.

It looks great to experience a neat and clean carpet that provides a refreshing smell to highlight the hygiene of your home. Luckily the task has been made much easier with the help of Hoover carpet cleaner. You might have bought one or rented one to do the cleaning but are not familiar with using Hoover carpet cleaner.

In this guide, we have compiled the list of each step involved, from cleaning to drying the carpet with proper usage of carpet cleaner.

Ways to Use Hoover Carpet Cleaner

Professionals highly recommend cleaning a carpet once a year if you want to keep it in good condition. A carpet cleaner seems quite similar to the Hoover vacuum cleaner, but it uses a cleaning solution and water to do a thorough cleaning. It will give a new look to your carpet after removing all the dirt and trapped debris.

Follow the below-mentioned steps to find the right way to use Hoover Carpet Cleaner without ruining the carpet’s original texture.

Preparations Before Cleaning

This is not a last-minute job, and you will need to spend plenty of hours performing all the activities involved in the cleaning process. From washing to drying, it will take enough time, so you have to be patient while doing this job.

Get a Cleaning Solution

Hoover provides different solutions for carpet cleaning. You can pick between general and tough cleaning solutions to remove stubborn stains of food, pet hair, and foul smell.

You can also use solutions made by other brands, but it is good to use a recommended solution for better results. It is not recommended to use vinegar or any other homemade cleaning solution in Hoover carpet cleaner.

Move Furniture Out of Cleaning Place

Cleaning large-sized carpets will require enough area in your room, so moving all the furniture out of that area is good. If moving furniture isn’t in your plan, try to cover it well to avoid it getting stained during cleaning. Also, ensure to keep enough distance between the furniture and carpet, so the liquid from the carpet doesn’t seep into the furniture or wood stains doesn’t get into your carpet.

Clear The Area With Vacuum

It is suggested to vacuum the carpet and surrounding area with the help of an ordinary dry vacuum cleaner. It will remove the dirt and small objects present on the carpet before using the Hoover carpet cleaner. You can apply a specified solution after cleaning the carpet with a vacuum cleaner to deal with stains.

Start The Cleaning Process

To initiate the process of cleaning with the carpet cleaner, first, place it on a smooth floor to avoid spills. Pour the water tank with water and detergent. Avoid placing carpet cleaner on the hardwood floor as the spills will damage it.

Fill the Carpet Cleaner With Water

There is a clean water tank and residual water tank already present in all Hoover carpet cleaners, and you need to fill the clean water tank. It is good to use hot water to fill the tank. You can remove the water tank and fill it in by

pressing the unlock button to a specified mark.

Pour Cleaning Solution into the Water Tank

Before adding cleaning solution to the tank, measure it inside the water tank’s cap. There are separate compartments for each solution. Use the only recommended amount of cleaning agent and mix it thoroughly with water to make a consistent solution.

Washing The Carpet

Turn on your carpet cleaner and run it on the required settings by pressing the button. Rub it slowly over all areas to squeeze the cleaning solution. After one round, begin cleaning again over that area by repeating the process again and again for in-depth cleaning.

Experts suggest avoiding overwetting the carpet as it will take days to dry if you soak it with water. For tough stains that are hard to remove, fill the tank again with cleaning solution and water to give one more shot to cleaning.

Drain the residual or waste water out of the tank to keep your cleaner safe.

Rinse the Carpet

Press the button displaying settings to rinse the carpet. If no such settings are available in your Hoover carpet cleaner, you can add lukewarm water inside the tank and rinse the carpet thoroughly. Repeat this process until the cleaning solution removes from the carpet.

It would be great to give two wets and two dry strokes for better rinsing.

Let it Dry

The process of drying will take hours. You can use a large fan or other drying processes to dry your carpet rapidly. Make sure your carpet is completely dried before using it. Also, never place your furniture on the wet carpet as it will prove bad for both.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to dry a carpet after using hoover carpet cleaner?

A carpet will take at least two to three hours to completely dry. However, drying can take more time if the surrounding area is humid or there is improper ventilation. For quick drying, you can also use a carpet blower.

Is it necessary to rinse the cleaning solution out of the carpet?

Special centers for health and care highly recommend rinsing carpets after using shampoo or cleaning solutions on them. The chemical agents will remain trapped in the carpet without rinsing to cause health issues or trigger allergies. These solutions capture dirt faster, and the carpet will require extra hours for cleaning.

Is it good to use cold or hot water for cleaning?

It is better to use hot water for cleaning as it will prove helpful in removing tough stains. In contrast, cold water will help in sticking dirt to the carpet. However, it is suggested to use hot water but no boiling water. Too hot water will melt the parts of the machine.
